Woods Handmade Cold Process Soap Bar | Forest Scented Essential Oil Blend | Natural Skincare | Organic Shea Butter

Bring the quiet strength of the woods into your daily routine. This cold process bar is designed for those who want a deep, grounding cleanse without the synthetic "perfume" smell of commercial soaps.
Coloured naturally with French Green Clay, this bar features a soft, earthy hue and a creamy lather. The clay acts as a gentle magnet, drawing out impurities and excess oils while lightly exfoliating the skin.
Scent Profile
The scent profile is a crisp, herbaceous walk through a damp forest:
• Cedarwood: Deep, woody, and grounding.
• Pine: Fresh, resinous, and invigorating.
• Rosemary: Sharp and herbal, providing a clean mental clarity.
Why French Green Clay?
Beyond just providing that beautiful, mossy-green colour, it fundamentally changes how the soap performs on your skin and in your hands.
1. Deep Detoxification
French green clay is famous for its "ionic" pull. It has a negative charge that acts like a magnet for positively charged toxins, heavy metals, and impurities. When you lather up, the clay helps lift dirt and environmental pollutants out of your pores more effectively than plain soap alone.
2. Oil Control & Balancing
It is one of the most absorbent clays available. It drinks up excess sebum (skin oil) without completely dehydrating the skin.
• Best for: People with oily, combination, or acne-prone skin.
• The Result: It leaves the skin feeling "squeaky clean" and matte, making it a favorite for facial bars.
3. Improved "Slip" for Shaving
If you use your soap bar for shaving (legs or face), clay is your best friend. It adds a silky "slip" to the lather, allowing a razor to glide over the skin with less friction. This significantly reduces the chance of razor burn or irritation.
4. Texture & Lather Silkiness
While the Coconut Oil in your recipe provides the big bubbles, the French green clay transforms the texture of those bubbles. It makes the lather feel denser, creamier, and more like a lotion. It also provides a very mild, almost imperceptible exfoliation that polishes the skin's surface.
5. Natural Colorant
In a world of synthetic micas and dyes, French green clay offers a completely natural, light-stable pigment.
• Unlike some botanical powders (like wheatgrass or spirulina) which can turn brown over time, the green from clay stays true throughout the life of the bar.
• The colour comes from decomposed plant matter (like algae and kelp) and iron oxides found in the earth.

How To Use
It might seem straightforward, but getting the most out of a high-quality, cold-process bar involves a little more than just "add water."
Here is the best way to use and preserve your natural soap:
The Routine
1. Wet and Lather: Wet your skin with warm water. Rub the bar between your hands or onto a washcloth/loofah to create a rich, creamy lather.
2. Massage: Apply the lather to your body in circular motions. For bars containing French Green Clay, let the lather sit on oily areas (like the T-zone or back) for 30 seconds to let the clay draw out impurities.
3. Rinse: Rinse thoroughly with cool or lukewarm water to close the pores.
⚠️ Product Cautions
External Use Only: For body and face wash only. Do not ingest.
• Avoid Eyes: Essential oils like Pine and Rosemary can be quite "zippy." If lather gets in the eyes, rinse immediately with cool water.
• Patch Test Recommended: As with any product containing pure essential oils, perform a small patch test on the inner arm before full use, especially if you have sensitive skin.
• Discontinue Use: If irritation, redness, or a rash occurs, stop using the soap immediately.
Specific Ingredient Notes
• Pregnancy/Health: Some experts suggest caution with Rosemary and Cedarwood essential oils during pregnancy or for those with high blood pressure. Consult a doctor if you have concerns.
• Clay Staining: While French Green Clay is natural, highly porous white washcloths may experience slight temporary staining. Rinse cloths thoroughly after use.
• Slippery Surfaces: The high oil and clay content can make bathtub or shower surfaces slippery. Use caution when stepping in or out.
Care Instructions
To ensure your handcrafted Forest Floor soap stays firm and lasts as long as possible, follow these simple care steps:
Handmade soap is naturally high in glycerin, which draws moisture to your skin but also pulls water into the bar.
• Use a Slotted Dish: Never leave your soap in a puddle. Use a well-draining soap dish (wood, ceramic, or silicone) that allows water to flow away.
• Airflow is Key: Store your bar in a spot with good circulation between uses so it can dry out completely.
