The First Impression (Top Notes): Initially, you’ll catch a faint, clean sweetness—almost like warmed milk or hay. 

• The Heart (Middle Notes): As the lather warms against your skin, the signature creamy woodiness takes center stage. This is the classic "temple" scent—smooth, balsamic, and slightly exotic.

• The Lingering Finish (Base Notes): The dry-down is earthy and mossy. Thanks to the natural clay in the bar, the scent feels "anchored," leaving a faint trail of ancient forest and sun-warmed bark on your skin long after you’ve stepped out of the shower.

Why Shea Butter?

In cold process soap making, Shea butter is often considered the "gold standard" for luxury bars. While coconut oil provides the bubbles and olive oil provides the gentle cleanse, Shea butter acts as the powerhouse for skin feel.

 1. The Power of "Unsaponifiables"

Most oils in your soap recipe turn completely into soap (a salt) when they meet lye. Shea butter, however, contains a high percentage (4–9%) of unsaponifiables—natural compounds like vitamins and plant sterols that cannot be turned into soap.  

• The Result: These compounds remain in the bar in their original form, acting as a built-in lotion that stays on your skin even after you rinse.

2. Creamy, Stable Lather

While coconut oil creates big, airy bubbles, Shea butter contributes to a dense, lotion-like lather.

• It acts as a "lather stabilizer," ensuring the bubbles don't just disappear instantly.

• It gives the wet soap a distinctive "silkiness" or "slip" between your fingers.

3. Bar Hardness & Longevity

Shea butter is a solid fat at room temperature because it is high in stearic acid.

• Including it helps create a firmer, more durable bar of soap.  

• Without a hard fat like Shea (especially in a palm-free recipe), the soap might turn into "mush" in a soap dish much faster.

How To Use

To get the most out of your artisanal soap, follow these simple steps for a long-lasting, spa-quality experience.

The Ritual

• Activate the Lather: Wet the bar under warm water and rub between your hands or onto a loofah or wash cloth for 10-15 seconds. You’ll notice the lather transition from thin bubbles to a dense, creamy "lotion" thanks to the raw Shea butter.

• The Deep Clean: Gently massage the lather into your skin. Let the natural clays sit for a moment to draw out impurities before rinsing.

• Breathe Deeply: Take a moment to inhale the warm, woody aroma of the sandalwood to ground your senses and reset your mood.

Usage Safety

• Patch Test First: As with any product containing pure essential oils and natural clays, we recommend a "patch test" on a small area of skin (like the inside of your wrist) before full-body use.

• Eyes & Sensitive Areas: This bar is for external use only. Avoid direct contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with cool water.

• Irritation: If redness, itching, or irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately.

• Pregnancy & Medical Conditions: Because this bar contains pure Sandalwood Essential Oil, individuals who are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor's care should consult a professional before use.

Care Instructions

Because this soap is rich in natural glycerin and moisturizing oils, it loves to "drink" water. If left in a puddle, it will soften and dissolve quickly.

·                High and Dry: Always place your bar on a draining soap dish (one with ridges or holes) between uses.

·                Air It Out: Ensure the soap can air dry completely. The harder the bar gets between showers, the longer it will last!

·               Keep it Cool: If you’re "stocking up," store your unused bars in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This preserves the delicate scent of the sandalwood and the vibrant color of the earth clays.

·                Fresh is Best: While cold process soap safe to use for years, the scent is most potent within the first 6 months of purchase.
