Why use Olive Oil in soap?

In the world of soap making, Olive Oil is considered the "liquid gold" of ingredients. It is one of the few oils that can actually make a high-quality bar of soap all on its own (known as Castile soap), but it’s even better when blended.

1. Extreme Mildness

Olive oil is famous for being incredibly gentle. Unlike some cleansing oils that can be aggressive, olive oil cleanses without stripping away your skin's natural moisture barrier. This makes it the "gold standard" for:

• Babies and infants.

• Elderly or thinning skin.

• Those with eczema or psoriasis.

2. High Oleic Acid Content

Chemically, olive oil is packed with Oleic Acid. In soap, this acid provides:  

• Conditioning: It leaves the skin feeling soft and supple rather than "squeaky" and dry.  

• Longevity: It helps create a dense, long-lasting bar (once fully cured).

3. Natural Humectant Properties

Olive oil is a natural humectant, meaning it helps your skin attract and retain moisture. Even after the soap is rinsed off, the microscopic "superfat" (the leftover unsaponified oil) stays behind to provide a breathable, protective layer.  

4. Antioxidant Boost

It is naturally rich in Vitamin E and Polyphenols. These antioxidants help neutralize free radicals, which can help soothe skin irritation and support skin repair while you wash.  

5. The "Lotion-Like" Lather

While oils like Coconut create big, fluffy bubbles, Olive oil creates a different kind of magic. It produces a "low and creamy" lather that feels almost like silk or lotion.

How to Use

Lather with warm water and massage into skin. Our unscented formula is enriched with natural sugars and proteins—allow the lather to remain on the skin for 30 seconds before rinsing for maximum hydration.

• Patch Test Recommended: If you have sensitive skin or allergies, we recommend performing a small patch test on your inner forearm before full-body use.

• Surface Safety: Because this soap contains natural oils, it may make your tub or shower floor slightly slippery. Use caution when stepping in and out.

Care Instructions

Because this soap is made the old-fashioned way, it’s a little different than the "big brand" bars. This bar contains natural glycerin, which attracts moisture. To extend the life of your soap, always use a draining soap dish and allow the bar to dry completely between uses.
